What the Insurance Industry knows about Electromagnetic Fields, that No One is Telling you, the Consumer

Since the earliest stages of the development of cell phones the telecom industry has claimed that the only risk to human health was thermal, the heating of the head where a cell phone was placed. The 1996 FCC standards for permissible levels of radiation from cell phones was based upon this model: a mannequin head (modeled on a 220# male and larger than 97% of the population) was filled with saline water and sugar (this concoction remains the brain matter material in testing in 2019), and the cell phone was held about one inch from the model head for six minutes. The scientist who was developing this test, Om Ghandi at the University of Utah, advised the industry that the thermal radiation effect on children’s developing brains was 5 to 10x the effects upon an adult’s. The industry’s response was to promptly fire him, cancel his research project and attempt to discredit him. This response from an industry to discredit science when profits are threatened by scientific findings is common and well documented. However, earlier there had been another direction in research into electromagnetic radiation. Scientists at a Cornell lab in 1960 found that EMR (or EMF) causes non-ionizing radiation of cells. This effect is far more pervasive and destructive because the radiation from cell phone towers affects everyone regardless of whether they have a phone to their head. This is a pollutant we can’t see or smell but it impacts every living cell (human, animal, and plant). When we begin to feel it the most common symptoms include: burning, itchy skin; headaches; anxiety; sleep disorders, and much more bad news. Grab a telecom brochure promoting the “promise of benefits” from the “Internet of Things” with 5G and read the Legal Disclaimers—that’s the list of health effects of 5G that the industry is obviously aware of so they claim no responsibility. Research on EMR in the United States, funded by either industry or the US government, ended by the mid-80s. But thousands of studies have been conducted abroad. Dr. Martin Pall, professor emeritus at Washington State University, has reviewed and catalogued more than 10,000 studies in the past 20 years. Professor Pall has categorized the effects of EMR into the 3 A’s—Autism in the young; Anxiety and Depression in those who are exposed for several years (which quickly includes children given their own electronics at a young age), and Alzheimer’s in the elderly (and that age marker will be lowering from today’s seniors, i.e. early onset dementia). The peer-reviewed, scientific studies have found the effects of EMR to attack our nervous systems including the brain and heart, attack our endocrine (hormonal) systems which regulate most of the body’s functions, produce oxidative stress and free radical damage which are at the core of all chronic diseases, attack the DNA of our cells which causes cancers and mutations in future generations, lower male and female fertility with lowered libido and increased number of spontaneous abortions. The EMR produces excessive intracellular calcium. This is non-iodizing radiation which is the basic cause of all the above physical and mental health problems. And this is where the insurance industry lowered the boom. In a presentation given to the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda in August, 2018, Dr. Pall used this diagram to explain the effects on our basic biology: we’re made up of aqueous cells whose activity is directed by the body’s own electrical current—until we encounter these extreme external influences of electromagnetic fields. Dr. Pall’s address to the NIH was the insanity of 5G when these are the effects of 2G, 3G, and 4G. See his presentation at the NIH at https://youtu.be/kBsUWbUB6PE. He is addressing the threat of 5G, but these are the health effects of 2G, 3G, and 4G. The next generation is estimated to be 6,000x more powerful—read harmful—than 4G. In 2010, Lloyd’s of London began to take note of the science that was being done in several nations on the non-ionizing radiation effects of cell phones and all our electronic usage. By 2015, this bellwether organization of the industry, declared, “Enough!” and in February ruled that the health effects of EMF would be excluded from ordinary insurance policies. Policy holders would have to purchase a separate policy for this coverage, just as asbestos and other known carcinogens and health risks have been handled. “The Electromagnetic Fields Exclusion (Exclusion 32) is a General Insurance Exclusion and is applied across the market as standard. The purpose of the exclusion is to exclude cover for illnesses caused by continuous long-term non-ionising radiation exposure i.e. through mobile phone usage.” CFC Underwriting LTD in London, the UK agent for Lloyd’s In 2012, the WHO included EMF as a Class 2B Possible Carcinogen. After two large experiments in the U.S. and Italy reported in 2018 the same type of brain tumors and heart diseases from EMF exposure, it was recommended that the WHO change the classification to “probable carcinogen”. It hasn’t happened yet. Although the insurance industry—and much of the industry followed Lloyd’s, always the highest risk-taker—is aware and accounting for the peer-reviewed, scientific research that conclusively proves of non-thermal destructive effects of EMF, the telecom industry doesn’t want the consumers aware of the risks. When the city of Berkeley, California, in 2015 required retailers selling cell phones to post notices warning consumers of safe use practices, the telecom industry contested the law. The San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the public’s health and safety. The case went to the U.S. Supreme Court which last week (12/09/19) also ruled against the telecom industry. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a report of this Supreme Court decision in the US mainstream media. Reuters, the British news service, covered it. Much of U.S. mainstream media are owned by conglomerates that include telecom, so bad news for the industry isn’t reported. Yet, the telecom industry warns their shareholders of financial risks in investing in their companies due to health liabilities of the product!
